I've been a pretty big fan of Stikkit for a while now but was hesitant about using Sandy upon first hearing of it, umm her. On it's face it seemed kind of gimmicky and not likely to work as well as promised. That said, based solely on your enthusiasm I am off to sign up for it, umm her, as we speak, umm type.

I use kind of the same pronciple for self organization. I organise myself through emails. I use Wrike http://www.wrike.com/ for it. The great thing is that I can use Wrike as a plannaer and as a collaboration tool for project work. Each memeber of my team has his own account and can both work on a shared project and built his own plans. That's great, cause it saves a lot of time on switching from one tool to another.
