Setting Contexts

Posted in, Online Productivity, Social Networking by jquig99 on July 31, 2007

Thanks to Pownce, I was introduced to today. It’s a social network for productivity geeks! I was so excited – still am (if anyone wants to pass alomng an invite…) – only to find that the development team behind it seems to have gone their separate ways in the last couple of weeks.

Would love to hear any experience on this platform, or/any any updates. maybe someone else can take it on ?

Invites? Updates? Bueller??
(Crossposted to Social Days)

Update: I did receive an invite (Thanks, Kristi!) and have been making my way around. It’s an exciting collaborative tool – someone should really pick it up and run with it if it’s been abandoned.

Heard anything more on I was actually looking at putting together something a little similar until recently. It always comes down to funding doesn’t it?

The 8apps offering looks really good though, and I’d be keen to use it, as much as anything else. If the team is not going ahead with it, the platform we are already working on internally could be adapted fairly quickly to suit. We are already working on an offering that combines several of the key pieces although we are using it in a primarily social context rather than a productivity context.

Have you managed to get in touch with anyone yet?

Does anyone know about the future of 8apps? I understood that the parent company was no more and they were going to sell it.

Nope it’s not being sold, but closed down.
